ISRO URSC Recruitment 2026: Overview and Key Dates

The U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), a premier institution under the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has officially announced a recruitment drive for 61 positions across various technical and support categories. Eligible and interested candidates can now submit their applications through the official web portal.

The deadline for online registration and fee submission is set for November 13, 2026. This recruitment drive aims to strengthen technical and operational support within the space agency's premier satellite design and manufacturing facility.

Breakdown of Vacancies

The 61 available posts are distributed across specific technical trades and transport roles to meet the operational demands of the space center:

- Technician-B: 46 posts - Light Vehicle Driver: 5 posts - Heavy Vehicle Driver: 10 posts

Eligibility Criteria and Age Limits

Applicants wishing to apply for these positions must fall within the prescribed age bracket of 18 to 35 years. In addition to age limits, candidates are strictly advised to review the official notification regarding specific educational qualifications, mandatory technical certifications, trade-wise experience prerequisites, and other governing conditions before submitting their application forms.

Selection Process

The selection procedure implemented by URSC involves a multi-stage evaluation designed to test both academic proficiency and practical competence:

1. Application Screening: The initial phase involves the screening of all submitted forms based on candidates' academic performance and provided credentials. Meeting the baseline eligibility requirements does not automatically guarantee a call-up for the examinations. 2. Written Test: Only shortlisted applicants will be formally invited to appear for a comprehensive written examination. 3. Skill Test: Candidates who successfully qualify in the written test will proceed to the final skill test stage, subject to the number of available vacancies.

Application Fee and Payment Guidelines

Candidates applying for the Technician-B and driver roles are required to make an initial fee payment of Rs 500.

To encourage active participation, the organization has structured a partial refund policy: Rs 400 will be refunded to candidates who physically appear for the written examination, leaving a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 100. The administration has clarified that physical payment methods—such as cash, cheques, demand drafts, money orders, and Indian Postal Orders—will not be accepted under any circumstances.

How to Apply

Prospective applicants should follow the outlined steps to complete their registration securely:

- Navigate to the official URSC recruitment portal. - Access the careers or recruitment section to locate the active notification. - Carefully read all instructions, guidelines, and trade-specific criteria. - Accurately fill out the online application form with valid personal and academic details. - Upload necessary scanned documents and complete the online fee transaction. - Submit the final application and retain a printed or digital copy for future verification.
