Punjab Political Storm: AAP Escalates Attack on Bikram Majithia Over Drug Money Allegations Following Massive Chargesheet
The AAP has intensified its attack on SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia, alleging massive drug profits linked to a new disproportionate assets chargesheet.

Political Flashpoint in Punjab
Amid mounting political speculation regarding a potential electoral realignment between the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a ferocious offensive against senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia. The escalation comes on the heels of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau filing a massive supplementary chargesheet in a disproportionate assets case against Majithia before a special court in Mohali.
The sprawling legal document, reportedly spanning approximately 40,000 pages, focuses on financial transactions and asset accumulation accrued between March 2, 2007, and March 21, 2017. While the legal proceedings strictly center on corruption and disproportionate wealth, AAP leadership has aggressively sought to interweave the findings with historical allegations of narcotics trafficking.
The Legal Battle and Allegations
Addressing the media, AAP general secretary Baltej Singh Pannu detailed that the supplementary chargesheet was submitted under FIR No. 22, initially registered on June 25, 2025, invoking provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act alongside Section 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.
Senior AAP figure and national leader Manish Sisodia openly congratulated Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for his administration's legal pursuit, dropping explosive allegations concerning drug proceeds.
"The chargesheet filed by the Punjab Police against Majithia details how he allegedly amassed Rs 736 crore through illicit drug operations, funneling the capital into bank accounts associated with his front companies," Sisodia asserted in a public statement.
Sisodia further claimed that synthetic narcotics entrenched themselves deeply within Punjab's social fabric during the tenure of the previous SAD-BJP government spanning 2007 to 2017. He added that the current administration under Chief Minister Mann has successfully targeted cross-border trafficking channels, shifting the focus of supply routes.
Majithia Dismisses Claims as Politically Motivated
Rejecting the allegations outright, Bikram Singh Majithia fired back at the ruling party, accusing leadership of deliberately misleading the public and obfuscating legal realities.
Taking to social media to counter the narrative, Majithia maintained that the newly filed documentation strictly pertains to a standard disproportionate assets inquiry and bears no connection to any active narcotics case.
"No chargesheet has been filed in connection with any drug case over the past five years, neither original nor supplementary," Majithia stated. "This is merely a supplementary filing in an asset probe. It took authorities a year and a half to manufacture this narrative, which remains entirely baseless. I will neither be silenced nor deterred from raising the pressing issues facing the people of Punjab."
As the political landscape heats up ahead of the electoral cycle, the intensifying legal friction between the ruling AAP and the opposition SAD continues to dominate discourse across the state.
