Resilient Operational Performance Amid Market Headwinds

Adani Group-owned ACC Limited has released its financial and operational performance for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027, reporting robust volume growth and expanding manufacturing footprints despite ongoing monsoon disruptions and elevated energy costs across the cement sector.

According to the company's official stock exchange filing, revenue from operations stood at Rs 5,689 crore for the quarter ending September 30. Operating EBITDA was recorded at Rs 401 crore, delivering a margin of 7 per cent, with an EBITDA per tonne of Rs 414.

Commenting on the financial outcomes, Vinod Bahety, Whole-time Director and CEO of ACC Limited, highlighted the underlying strength of the company's business model. "We delivered a resilient performance in Q2 and H1 FY'27, supported by an improving sales mix and higher premium volumes. While the reported numbers are not strictly comparable due to the impact of MSA, the underlying business momentum remains encouraging, supported by our trade partners," Bahety noted.

Volume Growth and Premium Mix Expansion

ACC recorded cement sales volumes of 9.7 million tonnes during the quarter. The company successfully expanded its market reach through strategic enhancements in its product portfolio:

* Trade Sales Growth: The share of trade sales increased by 7 percentage points year-on-year to reach 78 per cent. * Premium Products: Premium offerings accounted for 47 per cent of total trade sales, registering a sequential growth of 3 percentage points. * Blended Cement Share: The utilization and market share of blended cement rose to 85 per cent, up from 78 per cent in the corresponding period last year.

Concurrently, the Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) segment demonstrated strong upward momentum, with quarterly volumes surging 19 per cent year-on-year to 1.07 million cubic metres.

Strategic Capacity Additions and Sustainability Goals

To fortify its market presence across key domestic regions, ACC commissioned major manufacturing assets during the quarter. These include a 2.4 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) greenfield cement grinding unit located at Salai Banwa in Uttar Pradesh, alongside an additional 1.0 MTPA capacity expansion at Kalamboli in Maharashtra.

On the environmental and governance front, ACC continued to scale up its clean energy adoption. The company's green power share increased to 34.4 per cent, compared to 30.3 per cent in the previous year. Furthermore, ACC's 2025 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) net score was revised upward to 82 from 72, reinforcing its industry-leading gross score of 89 out of 100.
