MCOCA Invoked in High-Profile Case

MUMBAI — In a major escalation of the ongoing probe, the Mumbai Police have invoked the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against all accused arrested in connection with the recent firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff.

According to official records from the DCB CID, the provisions of MCOCA, 1999, were formally added to the existing case file following approval granted by the competent authority on October 27. The original First Information Report (FIR) was registered on October 19 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act.

Investigators stated that Sections 3(1)(ii), 3(2), and 3(4) of MCOCA have now been incorporated into the chargesheet against all apprehended suspects as the probe intensifies into the organized crime syndicate behind the attack.

Syndicate Links and Motive Uncovered

Earlier investigations by the Mumbai Crime Branch revealed that the armed attack on the actor was not an isolated criminal act, but rather part of a calculated conspiracy. Law enforcement agencies established that the operation was orchestrated with specific objectives: extorting money, establishing gang dominance, and instilling widespread public fear.

Police dossiers indicate that the suspects operate as active members of an interstate criminal syndicate linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Investigators uncovered an extensive network spanning multiple locations, including Delhi and Mumbai, through which the logistical and operational facets of the conspiracy were coordinated.

Accelerated Investigation

Senior police officials confirmed that the investigation has been significantly expedited given the organized crime syndicate's involvement. The use of lethal firearms in the premeditated attack on a high-profile public figure prompted authorities to apply the rigorous anti-organized crime framework to ensure strict legal action.

Further inquiries and coordinated multi-state operations are currently underway as the Mumbai Crime Branch works to apprehend remaining facilitators linked to the conspiracy.
