Delhi Police Deploys 3,500 Personnel and 200 Cameras for INDIA Bloc's Ramlila Maidan Rally
Delhi Police puts comprehensive security measures in place, dividing Ramlila Maidan into 14 zones ahead of the Congress-led INDIA bloc's November 1 protest.

Massive Security Grid Activated in Central Delhi
Delhi Police has finalized elaborate security and traffic management plans for the Congress-led INDIA bloc rally scheduled at Ramlila Maidan. Authorities have divided the historic venue into 14 distinct security zones, deploying approximately 3,500 police personnel and over 200 high-definition CCTV cameras to maintain public order.
The large-scale mobilization comes as opposition parties prepare for a major political demonstration in the national capital. The protest centers on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, with leaders demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Zone-Wise Monitoring and Surveillance
According to senior police officials, each of the 14 operational zones will be directly overseen by an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), while broader coordination across pairs of zones will be managed by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Addl DCP) rank officers.
To bolster crowd management and surveillance capabilities, law enforcement has inducted 10 companies of reserve forces. The technical infrastructure features extensive CCTV networks, body-worn cameras for ground personnel, and mobile surveillance vehicles. Dedicated control rooms are operating around the clock to monitor crowd densities and movement in surrounding arterial roads.
Organizer Projections and Traffic Concerns
Opposition organizers have estimated a massive turnout, projecting upwards of one million attendees. Estimates suggest that 15,000 to 20,000 buses, alongside numerous private vehicles carrying political leaders and supporters, will converge on the city.
The scale of the gathering has sparked concern among local business communities. The Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) formally requested a postponement of the rally past November 10, citing potential disruptions to commercial activity in nearly 20 major markets near Ramlila Maidan during the peak festive shopping window leading up to Dhanteras and Diwali.
Despite the appeals from traders, opposition leadership has confirmed that the demonstration will proceed as planned. Senior Congress figures indicated that the political agitation would continue until the core demands regarding the Election Commission are addressed.
