Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge's 'Baap' Remark Against PM Modi Sparks Nationwide Political Firestorm
A sharp retort by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in Patna triggered fierce condemnation from the BJP, leading to widespread political fallout.

Political Row Erupts in Patna
A stark and aggressive remark by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a public event in Patna has triggered a fierce political storm. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing counter-offensive, accusing the opposition leader of crossing all bounds of political decorum and insulting the nation's leadership.
The controversy unfolded during an event commemorating the 139th birth anniversary of Bihar's first chief minister, Dr. Shri Krishna Singh. Proceedings turned chaotic when an individual in the audience shouted a remark suggesting that Prime Minister Modi would not lose power. Reacting sharply from the dais, Kharge retorted with a colloquial counter, which was repeated multiple times before security and attendees intervened.
The 'Misunderstanding' Twist
Amidst the immediate uproar inside the hall, the man identified as the heckler was escorted out following a physical altercation by attendees. However, outside the venue, the individual clarified that his comments had been misinterpreted. He claimed he was attempting to state that Prime Minister Modi would remain in power only unless a major public revolt occurred, adding that he actually desired a change in leadership.
Despite the clarification, the incident provided immediate ammunition for the ruling party to intensify its attacks on the grand old party and its top leadership.
BJP Condemns 'Uncouth' Rhetoric
Senior BJP leaders swiftly condemned the remarks, calling them indicative of a deteriorating political discourse. Union leaders and state party officials stated that the opposition, lacking substantive policy debates, routinely resorts to personal attacks against the Prime Minister and his family.
The BJP announced plans for nationwide protests and demonstrations in response to the language used, further escalating tensions between the ruling alliance and the opposition bloc as political campaigning intensifies across states.
