Brutal Assault Caught on Camera

A horrifying incident of domestic violence has surfaced from Punjab's Ludhiana district, where a man was captured on CCTV brutally thrashing his wife. The attack, which took place on the night of October 21, has sparked widespread outrage and led to immediate police intervention following a formal complaint by the victim.

The survivor, identified as Twinkle, who operates a local salon, was subjected to a violent physical assault by her husband, Ritish Sharma. Security camera footage from the neighborhood shows Sharma grabbing the victim by her hair and slapping her outside their residence after she attempted to flee to a neighbor's house for safety.

Escalating Dowry Harassment

According to the formal police complaint filed by Twinkle, the roots of the violence trace back to persistent demands for dowry. The couple married in November of last year—marking the first marriage for Sharma and the second for Twinkle—after having met during the victim's divorce proceedings approximately two years prior.

Twinkle alleged that merely three months into their marriage, Sharma began pressing for a Mahindra Thar SUV. The continuous harassment resulted in frequent, near-daily disputes that eventually necessitated the intervention of a local mediator to broker a temporary settlement.

However, tensions flared anew when Sharma allegedly raised demands for a motorcycle. On the night of the incident, an argument over the vehicle escalated rapidly. Fearing for her safety, Twinkle fled into a neighbor’s home, but Sharma pursued her inside, dragged her out onto the street, and continued the assault.

Police Action and Investigation

Alerted by the victim's screams, local residents rushed to the scene and intervened, successfully rescuing Twinkle from the attacker.
