Varanasi Welcomes PM Modi for Grand Roadshow and Industrial Push

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi on Sunday, receiving a massive and enthusiastic welcome from thousands of residents and party workers who lined the streets for a mega roadshow.

The visit kicked off with a major economic boost for Uttar Pradesh as the Prime Minister inaugurated Arvind Limited's new garment manufacturing facility. The state-of-the-art plant marks a significant milestone in expanding the region's textile and apparel manufacturing sector, positioning the state as an emerging destination for industrial investment.

Significantly, the manufacturing initiative is predominantly women-led, underscoring the government's broader focus on fostering women's participation in the workforce and promoting inclusive economic development. By integrating local production capabilities with Arvind Limited's global customer base, the facility is expected to connect Varanasi directly to international supply chains.

'Wings Over Ganges': Celebrating 94 Years of the Indian Air Force

The Prime Minister's itinerary in Kashi also centers around a major national defense milestone. Varanasi is hosting the Indian Air Force's grand aerial display, 'Wings Over Ganges', to mark 94 glorious years of the IAF.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh extended a warm welcome to Prime Minister Modi ahead of the event. Highlighting the cultural and strategic significance of the venue, the Defence Minister noted that Varanasi serves as a vibrant symbol of a strong, self-reliant, and resurgent India.

"Kashi is set to witness the valour and might of the Indian Air Force at 'Wings Over Ganges', celebrating 94 glorious years of the IAF," Rajnath Singh shared in a statement on social media.

High-Octane Aerial Spectacle at Namo Ghat

Ahead of the main event scheduled at Namo Ghat, the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) enthralled onlookers with breathtaking maneuvers in the skies over Varanasi.

Prime Minister Modi will attend Sunday's grand finale as the Chief Guest. The aerial extravaganza features an impressive lineup of the IAF's premier display teams, including the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team and the Sarang Helicopter Display Directorate.

Spectators will witness a formidable showcase of air power, with flypasts and demonstrations involving frontline fighter aircraft such as the Sukhoi Su-30MKI, Tejas, Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand, alongside heavy-lift and transport platforms including the IL-76, IL-78, C-295, and AN-32 aircraft.
