A routine afternoon on a residential terrace in Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district turned into an unspeakable tragedy on Monday when a sudden wildlife intrusion resulted in the death of a toddler and critical injuries to his mother.

According to local law enforcement, the incident took place in Adhauli village, situated within the jurisdiction of the Mahewa Ghat police station. The victim, Komal Devi, was spending time on the rooftop of her home with her one-and-a-half-year-old son, Shaurya, when a aggressive troop of monkeys suddenly charged at them.

Panic and Fall

Faced with the approaching animals, Devi panicked and attempted to flee the terrace while cradling her young son in her arms. In her urgent bid to escape the aggressive wildlife, she lost her footing near the edge and plunged from the unprotected terrace directly into the concrete courtyard below.

Family members rushed to the scene immediately after hearing the commotion and the impact. Both mother and child sustained multiple fractures and severe internal trauma from the high-velocity fall.

Hospitalization and Fatal Outcome

Emergency transport was arranged swiftly, and the injured pair were rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent intervention.

Despite the efforts of the medical staff, young Shaurya succumbed to his critical injuries while undergoing treatment. Circle Officer Kaushambi, Arun Kumar Shukla, confirmed the sequence of events and stated that Komal Devi remains hospitalized, where she is currently receiving intensive medical care for her severe injuries.
