Public Outrage in Behala After Vigilante Attack

A shocking incident of vigilante justice has sent ripples of horror through the city's Behala area, where a young man and his aging father were stripped of their clothes and forced to parade naked through public streets. The horrific punishment was reportedly meted out over the younger man's relationship with a teenager.

According to local authorities, three individuals—including the young woman's father and maternal uncle—have been arrested in connection with the crime. The incident has drawn widespread condemnation from civil society and highlighted growing concerns over unlawful public punishments.

Sequence of Events

Preliminary investigations by Daily News 365 and local law enforcement revealed that the young man, accompanied by a friend, had arranged to meet the teenage girl. During their meeting, an alleged display of affection was witnessed by an associate of the girl's uncle.

The witness quickly relayed the information to the girl's father and maternal uncle. Within a short span, the family members confronted the young couple and forcibly detained the young man and his friend, taking them to a residence in the Khudirampally locality.

Inside the house, the victims were subjected to physical assault. In an escalation of the intimidation tactics, the young man's father was summoned to the location. Upon his arrival, the elderly man was also violently assaulted.

Humiliation and Arrests

Under threats of lethal violence involving firearms, the perpetrators coerced the father, son, and the son's friend to strip off their clothes. The three victims were then forced to walk naked for approximately 50 meters along the residential lane in full view of the neighborhood.

A video documenting the harrowing ordeal subsequently surfaced on social media platforms, sparking intense public backlash and prompting immediate police intervention.

"The woman's family allegedly caught them together and subsequently confined the young man inside a house. The young man was assaulted by the woman's father and maternal uncle," a senior police official stated.

Police have confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway to identify any other individuals who may have been involved or witnessed the humiliation without intervening. The arrested suspects face multiple charges including wrongful confinement, assault, and outraging the modesty of individuals.
